Scorpion king
Perhaps many thought that the "Scorpion King" was a fictional character from the ideas of the authors of science fiction novels..
And some imagined him as in the movies..from a being half of which is human and the rest of his body is a scorpion!
But in fact... "The Scorpion King" is nothing but a real historical figure who lived in Egypt before the dynastic era in ancient Egypt!
(Sarqat) means the scorpion king, and it is the name of the last king of Upper Egypt before the unification of Egypt around the year 3200 BC. The name may refer to the goddess Serket.
King (Scorpion), it is possible that he was the last of the kings before King “Narmar” “Mina united the two countries”..
The role of the "Scorpion King" in the unification of Egypt:
It indicates that he was a king from the south, mostly "Tiba", who made several campaigns on the north, which ended in unifying the country, from the Mediterranean in the north, to the third waterfall in the south, and that was in the year 4500 BC, at least, as he united the country, North and South, in one state, continued as a central government for at least 700 years, and next to the exhibits of this king in the Oxford Museum are recorded the names of the fifteen kings of his successors in that united state.
It is possible that the lesser known rulers of Upper Egypt were the ones who accomplished most of the stages of the conquest process at the end of the pre-dynastic era, and among them (in addition to King “Al-Aqrab”) were individuals or rulers, such as the so-called “Ka” and the so-called “Eri Hor”; There was nothing left for "Narmar" but to work on consolidating the pillars of success, with what is likely to direct his attention to the different tribes in the remote parts of the country.
Accordingly, we find that the road has paved the way for the union that will be achieved by the hero of the union of Egypt, King "Narmer" or "Mina" coming from the south as well, in 3200 BC.
Antiquities:
In 1898 AD, some traces of the scorpion king were found in Hirakonpolis in the "Al-Kawm Al-Ahmar", which is one of the most important monuments of the "Zero" family, including a repressor (fighting pin).
It is one of the effects of the Scorpion King, preserved in the Oxford Museum, and its inscriptions show that the ancient Egyptians reached pictorial writing, starting from that date, at least, and this is considered among the oldest Egyptian documents indicating the discovery of letters to write the ancient Egyptian language
The painting is made of limestone in the shape of a pear, and in the middle of the painting is the king (the scorpion) in a large, free shape, wearing the crown of the south (the Upper Egypt), and he wears a short robe that covers one shoulder, and reaches to the knee, and a long tail hangs from it. And the king holds with his hands a large ax with which he intends to split the land, as if he is performing a ritual related to the beginning of the planting season at the opening ceremony of an irrigation or farming project.
He was depicted in front of him (a scorpion) and the scorpion indicates his famous name...
